First, the next three years will focus on the development of smart intelligence
According to Lin Zongyao, associate of the CTO Office of MediaTek, there will be four major improvements in intelligence from the cloud to the terminal.
1. Reaction rate. Many of the current smart devices are collected by the terminal device and then transmitted back to the cloud for calculation processing, and then transmitted to the terminal device. The entire process has time loss, such as in the vehicle system. In a system that responds quickly, information processing such as end-cloud-end is too late, and terminal intelligence can provide timely system feedback.
2, privacy protection, the device uploads data to the cloud for processing, the biggest problem for users is privacy. Even if cloud services with different permissions, such as public cloud, private cloud or even hybrid cloud, are currently passed, the user's data is transmitted to the cloud server's server background. For cloud service users, in addition to privacy issues, uploading data to the cloud also puts pressure on the cost, especially for users with large data.
3, network connection, the entire process of data processing in the cloud also needs to connect to the network, such as network delay or stuck, data transmission will be blocked, the entire response process will become longer, the implementation efficiency is much lower.
4, running power consumption, according to Lin Zongyao, the total power consumption generated by cloud services currently accounts for about 5% of the total global power consumption. If AI processing can be performed on the terminal, the power will also drop.
It is precisely because the cloud service has the above unsatisfactory, the industry is now intelligently decentralized to the terminal. MediaTek, the mobile phone chip giant, also wants to be the promoter of the smart. Lin Zongyao stressed that in the next three years, MediaTek will focus on the end intelligence.
Second, open the NeuroPlot artificial intelligence platformAt the beginning of the month at CES, MediaTek launched a NeuroPlot artificial intelligence platform that integrates the hardware product AI processor with software services to provide users with a complete artificial intelligence solution.
The NeuroPlot artificial intelligence platform features four major features:
