Carbon black content test device is applicable to GB/T2951.41 "Test methods for insulation and sheathing materials for cables and cables, Part 41, Test methods for polyethylene and polypropylene mixtures - Determination of carbon black and mineral fillers in polyethylene - The Direct Combustion Method standard is used when a polyethylene or PVC cable is required for a low temperature winding test. Equivalent to the IEC60811-4-1 standard.

Method / Step:
1. Heat the combustion boat to the hot, then cool it in the dryer for at least 30 minutes, weigh it, to the nearest 0.0001 g, put the (1.0 ± 0.1) g polyethylene sample into the combustion boat, and weigh together, accurate To 0.0001 g, the weight of the burning boat was subtracted from the weight to obtain a weight A of the polyethylene sample, accurate to 0.0001 g.
2. First place the combustion boat containing the sample into the middle of the quartz tube of the heating furnace, then insert a rubber plug of a vented glass tube into one end of the glass combustion tube, and adjust the atmosphere device to make the oxygen content less than 0.5%. Nitrogen is passed through the quartz tube at the desired flow rate and maintained at this rate during subsequent heating.
3. Move the combustion boat to the mouth of the instrument, do not remove it immediately; after the boat is cooled down slightly in nitrogen, take out the combustion boat, then cool it in the dryer for 20-30min, and re-weigh it, minus the burning boat. Weight, the weight of the residue was determined to be accurate to 0.0001 g (residue weight B).
4. Place the burning boat on the glass burning tube. Adjust the atmosphere device in step 4. Pass the oxygen instead of nitrogen to the quartz tube in the glass burning tube at an appropriate flow rate to completely burn the residual carbon black. The combustion boat was taken out and cooled, and the weight of the combustion boat was subtracted, and the weight of the residue was measured to be accurate to 0.0001 g (residue weight C).
