Talking about Bocon's Technology and Application in Internet of Things

With the gradual launch of smart home, car networking, and smart city construction, the Internet of Things is gradually entering the people's field of vision. The Internet of Things will be another new wave of information industry after the computer Internet. The Internet of Things will be widely popular in the next decade. And development. At the same time, there are data showing that by 2015, the global IoT market will be close to $350 billion, with an annual growth rate of nearly 25%. How will domestic manufacturers deal with this outbreak? In this regard, we interviewed Liu Wei, technical director of Bocon (Beijing Bokong Automation Technology Co., Ltd.), who will take us to explain Bocon's high-tech and cutting-edge applications brought to the Internet of Things industry.

The Internet of Things has the characteristics of network dispersion, variety of data types, flexible and varied application requirements, and many nodes do not have strong computing power, which makes it difficult to secure the security and reliability of the Internet of Things. A stable and immutable protocol stack can solve the reliability and efficiency of the Internet of Things. In terms of security, different systems have different requirements, mainly through enhancements in software. For example, in wireless communication, system security can be ensured by adding a data encryption protocol. In 2007, Bocon implemented a Wi-Fi module with a cryptographic protocol stack for use in telecom billing nodes. It began to be widely deployed in the power industry in 2011.

Liu Wei pointed out that in the early days of the concept of IoT, there were some Internet of Things solutions that appeared and benefited from WIZnet's unique hardware TCP/IP chips. For example, the DSP works with the W5100 (shown in Figure 1 below), the serial server, and the power concentrator. These solutions are now available in high volume applications. The application of the new W5500 in the wireless gateway (Figure 2) is also common.

In addition, there are many sensors or control nodes that do not have networking capabilities to expand the network connection. With the outbreak of the Internet of Things, the company will integrate more network technologies and sensor technologies into the industry and propose more comprehensive solutions, such as smart grid protocol conversion and CATV remote management controller.

Liu Wei said that in order to cope with the flexible and varied applications in the Internet of Things, Bocon uses a modular-based approach in technology to develop mature, stable, and scalable modules or chips in hardware and software. Ethernet is the backbone network. With a wireless and low-speed sensor network, it forms a flexible IoT foundation. Whether it is in traditional factory automation, hydrology, water, transportation and power networking applications, or in emerging smart agriculture, intelligent lighting control, energy monitoring and intelligent medical applications.
