True Blu-Ray Player — Egret A6 HDD Player Reviews

I should be regarded as a enthusiast Blu-ray movie enthusiast (not the kind of online pseudo-blue light seen in the box, but a true Blu-ray original movie). After a few moments in the cinema, I had to go out and have a Blu-ray disc after a few months. Once again, enjoy the visual impact of Blu-ray movies. Especially Blu-ray 3D is much better than cinema. The playback devices used are PS4 and LG Blu-ray players.

However, some movies cannot buy genuine Blu-ray discs at home, so they can only be downloaded by pt. The problem here is that more and more Blu-ray discs with Cinavia's silent watermarks are now on the shelf, and it's particularly annoying when they're standing there. So simply 3 years ago with a host of 6K yuan put the living room dedicated to look at Blu-ray, the machine is equipped with AnyDVD software specifically designed to bypass Cinavia, but want to see 3D original disk has to enter NVIDIA to make tedious set foot Take 10 minutes to prepare.

I am looking for a powerful, easy-to-use Blu-ray disk player. This is not the case. The Yigerui A6 fully meets all my requirements and comes with me.

The first package that opens is the included HDMI 2.0A cable, which supports 4K UHD 60Hz. The connector has a million gray logo, and the workmanship is very good.

A6 includes host 1, remote control, battery 7, battery 2, 12V 2A power supply 1, Lotus terminal video & audio cable and HDMI 2.0A cable.

The A6 is small and almost the same length as the remote control.

The A6 host's three-dimensional dimensions are much smaller than the A10 Pro. As for how small, please look back.

The A10 PRO remote control on the left and the A6 remote control on the right: The A6's remote control uses a glossy black material. Since the A10 PRO is positioning higher-end markets, the remote control buttons (60 keys) are significantly more than the A6's remote control (50 keys).

A6's remote control ergonomics does a good job.

The A6's remote control has the same backlight as the A10 PRO (left A10 PRO, right A6). Each press of the button activates the backlight and the compression is also very comfortable.

The front of the fuselage, both sides of the original cover are covered with a protective film, in order to facilitate the photo I immediately received on the tear off.

The whole machine is different from the A10 PRO light brushed material, using a metal black matte surface.

The top left and bottom left corners of the machine are the Agreed A6 logo.

The right side of the machine is a hard disk box, the official said that hard disk box has 100,000 opening life, so hard disk box lock tongue and A10 PRO is also a metal, only supports 3.5-inch desktop hard disk.

The opening on the left side of the machine is the air-cooled air intake inside the body.

The back of the fuselage from left to right are: cooling fan, 12V power input, forced brush button, Gigabit LAN port, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, HDMI output, red and yellow white video & audio output, and optical fiber coaxial output.

The bottom 4 feet of the machine are covered with soundproof rubber to avoid resonance during operation.

A6 is different from A10 PRO is an external power supply module, the adapter output 12V 2A, the interface is universal DC 5.52.1mm.

The A6 manual consists of a very thick coated paper consisting of 76 pages. Each function is explained in great detail. This is the most detailed specification I have read.

The biggest difference between the A6 and the A10 PRO is that the volume becomes smaller, and the dual-band WiFi antenna is also changed from external to built-in.

From this picture, it can be clearly seen that the A10 PRO uses the brushed silver process, while the A6 uses a matte process.

The A10 PRO positioned a higher enthusiast-level user, so the A6 did not use the A10 PRO's built-in power supply module, and had no external SATA hard disk interface and RS-232 expansion interface, losing some playability. But do not worry at all, A6 still provides a wealth of interfaces, enough for ordinary users

Unscrew the 6 screws on the bottom of the machine and the 3 screws on the back, then turn on the machine. It can be found that the WiFi dual band and the Bluetooth receive antenna are on the left side of the machine (viewed from the front).

The WD_7632U is a dual-band WiFi Bluetooth 4.0 module. The specific parameters are IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4G+5G WiFi 2T2R+BT4.0 Module.

The A6 host consists of a baseboard, a cover, and a mainboard.

When using USB 3.0, it will add about 20dB noise to WiFi in the 2.4G band. Therefore, shielding measures were taken at the USB 3.0 interface.

A6 uses Hass Hi3798C 4K program, Samsung eMMC 8GB, Hynix 4512MB (2GB) DDR3 memory particles.

The cooling fan is located at the right rear of the machine, and the cooling air inlet is located on the left side of the machine. Cold wind blew through the entire board to cool it.

After removal, the mechanical structure of the HDD enclosure can be clearly seen.

Due to the large code rate of Blu-ray 4K Ultra HD movies, the USB 3.0 interface requires high speed throughput.

4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disk "Ring Pacific" reached 80.05GB, code rate of 87.3Mbps, USB interface speed requirements of at least 10.9MB/S.

U disk is tested using a DIY 64GB SanDisk, USB controller USB 3.0 USB flash drive. Read and write speeds of up to 294MB/s and 183.3Mb/s are powerful enough.

The test file is a size 1.13GB movie.

Copy the 1.13GB file from the U disk to the A6 memory, measure the total elapsed time, and then restart the memory to clear the cache. Then copy the file to the U disk and measure the usb 3.0 write speed.

The result is as follows:

It takes 26.45 seconds for the 1.13GB file to be written to the machine's memory from the USB 3.0 interface, resulting in a USB 3.0 interface reading speed of 43.7MB/s.

1.13GB file from the inside of the machine through the USB 3.0 interface to write U disk took 28.87 seconds, the USB 3.0 interface write speed 40MB/s.

There is a limit test here: The 4K demonstration dish duck take-off code rate has reached a perverted 248.1 Mbps, requiring that the USB interface at least meet a 31 MB/s read speed.

Ordinary blue iso code rate does not exceed 50 Mbps, and 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray disc code rate does not exceed 90 Mbps. From the test results, it is enough to read 43.7MB/s and write 40MB/s for A6 USB 3.0, USB 3.0 bandwidth will not become a bottleneck in performance.

My home network is R6300 brush Merlin 7.6 firmware, connected to the mobile hard disk under the USB 3.0 interface, the formation of SAMBA LAN sharing.

The same 1.13GB size file is used for 1.3 minutes when the WiFi 5G signal is copied to the A6 memory and is converted to 12.6MB/s. The maximum speed can watch 108Mbps movies, so it is no problem to view the Blu-ray iso 4K UHD disc through LAN sharing.

The speed is not so fast at 2.4G WiFi, measured at 4MB/s (speed referenced, there are many factors affecting speed). Recommend that you even 5G signal, speed is guaranteed.

A6 system function introduction

The following pictures cannot be truly reflected in the actual effects seen by the naked eye because the screen shot cannot be used as a final effect and only for display purposes (some screen shots can see the water ripples, but they are actually not visible to the naked eye):

A6 HDMI is connected to BOSE V35. BOSE is responsible for next-generation audio decoding and image output tasks.

A6 is deeply customized by Android system. The main interface is as shown above. There is a current connection status prompt in the upper right.

Here I first connected an Apple Bluetooth keyboard for future operations.

A6 LED display can be customized operation; Blu-ray original playback can also be defined.

A6 firmware can be upgraded online or on U disk in the last option.

Egreat A6 supports SAMBA/NFS LAN sharing, the landlord home network configuration is as follows: R6300 V2 brush Merlin 7.6 firmware, connected to the mobile hard disk under the USB 3.0 interface, the formation of SAMBA LAN sharing. The most interesting feature of the Yigrae A6 is the poster wall function. The normal display mode is shown above. I have 5TB of Blu-ray resources. It is very difficult to quickly find a film that I want to see in so many Blu-ray original files.

With the poster wall, it can be more intuitive. In addition to the Blu-ray original disc in all categories, any video file can display and provide posters.

In the collection, if the video file is a series of movies, it will be automatically classified.

All the American dramas in the hard disk were automatically divided into episode categories. However, some American dramas were not displayed because they were relatively new or their naming methods did not meet the automatic poster triggering method. The number at the top left of the poster represents the actual number of episodes in the poster.

Take the American drama "The Last Ship" as an example, not only posters, but also main background, actors, ratings, and other information.

Under the original option, the Blu-ray original movie on the hard disk is automatically recognized and displayed in the form of a poster. The accuracy of the poster is very high, but there are also wrong posters, such as the Wonder Woman in the upper right corner of the figure above. The system was identified as a 2009 cartoon.

It doesn't matter if you identify errors. A6 supports manual changes. Click here to edit and enter Wonder Woman 2017 to find the correct poster.

The poster is generated correctly Click on the remote control OK button to enter the video details: rating, director, year, actors, and storyline. In addition to playback, you can choose to directly play the feature or enter the Blu-ray navigation menu.

Under the 4K classification, 4K movies can be subdivided into ordinary 4K and 4K UHD movies in the upper right corner. Very intuitive~

A6 also supports 3D Blu-ray native output, 3D Blu-ray original is the simultaneous output of two 1080p signal superposition, different from the normal red and blue and left and right picture 3D, is true 3D. As long as the TV hardware supports it. Because my family's Dafa 65-inch 4K TV does not support 3D, this Panasonic WT60C, which was used for screen shots, became the main model that we usually watch.

If a Blu-ray movie is paused, the movie chapter, video quality, and audio track subtitles will appear at the top. After standing for 3 seconds, pause the status bar and put it away.

Click on the remote control menu button to select the track and subtitles on the Blu-ray Disc (the remote control has an independent track and subtitle button for easy switching).

Some Blu-ray movies do not have embedded captions. Click on the caption here to select the corresponding caption.

Online captions sometimes do not match well with the movie. This can be useful for things like size, color, position, and delay.

A6 is to support ASS special effects subtitles, the first English letter below the string of subtitles is the effect of subtitles and film equivalent. If the player does not support such subtitles, it is the effect of the type of graphics below. The subtitles are on and off the screen.

The 3D Blu-ray original disc can be set to play directly in 3D mode or normal mode; the time-selected play function can be played to the exact seconds, which is very convenient.

The image engine is set to be the Egreon A6 imprex engine, which supports image mode switching and can also manually adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and saturation for a more advanced user experience.

Because the system is Android-depth custom, you can download the online on-demand application just like an ordinary Android box. No more space is wasted here.

The A6 also has a built-in Kodi (XBMC) player.

Play experience

For Blu-ray enthusiasts, using a PC to play a Blu-ray original movie is very complicated. Ordinary TV boxes are incompetent for Blu-ray ISO or meat saucers.
