Introduced high thermal conductivity resin housing LED lamp

Japan introduced a high thermal conductivity resin case LED lamp. According to the relevant information, Iwasaki Electric and Teijin have developed the E26 outdoor LED lighting bulb that uses resin in the heat dissipation part. The high thermal conductivity carbon material "Raheama" developed by Teijin has polymerized the high thermal conductivity of polycarbonate resin. The resin is used as a material for the outer casing. According to Iwasaki Electric and Teijin, the E26 LED lighting products made of resin are not the first in the world. It is envisaged that the self-ballasted mercury lamps used in alternative billboards and job sites will be listed in 2010.

Raheama is a carbon material that conducts heat more than metal. The high thermal conductivity resin used in the outer casing has the same heat dissipation properties as aluminum. The weight is about the same as the weight of the ballasted mercury lamp and the accessory, which is about 300 grams. LED lighting has the advantages of high luminous efficiency and long life. The disadvantage is that in order to release heat from the LED module, aluminum alloy is often used in the outer casing, and the weight is increased. The outer casing can be made of resin to reduce the weight. Thanks to its excellent molding processability, the freedom of design can be improved. The total luminous flux of the new product is 1600 lm. It is higher than the original self-ballasted mercury lamp (about 1450lm), and the power consumption is 18W, which is much smaller than the power consumption of the self-ballasted mercury lamp (168W). The light colors include 3000K and 6500K, and the average color rendering index (R) is 80 and 70, respectively. The life expectancy is about 40,000 hours (about 6000 hours from the ballast mercury lamp).

The jointly developed product is planned to be launched by Iwasaki Electric as "LEDEyeLamp" in 2010. Teijin plans to use Raiama to promote Raheama in the field of LEDs while supplying high thermal conductivity resin to Iwasaki Electric. Including the promotion of usage for other fields, Teijin will sell Raheama of hundreds of tons in 2015.
