Use HoloLens to visit a virtual museum? Looks nervous

[Abstract] This is the first time that Microsoft has cooperated with art institutions through commercial forms, and this is certainly not the last time. Augmented reality has great potential for application, and we have seen its use in education, medical care, and games so far.

Tencent Digital (Guti) Augmented Reality is now making rapid progress. From small digital graffiti to small virtual museums, it can be experienced with augmented reality technology. Now that we can use Microsoft's HoloLens head-worn equipment to experience the unique appeal of augmented reality at the New York Armory Art Exhibition, augmented reality technology allows us to experience new experiences that we have never had before.

The difference between Microsoft's HoloLens's augmented reality technology and virtual reality technology is that it displays content based on the actual environment, rather than a complete virtual environment, so basically the picture consists of real background and virtual elements. This feature was used to create a virtual museum, and this time the virtual museum has a very performing art name called "cement storm."

This augmented reality museum was developed by Drift Studios from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and is also the world’s first virtual museum based exclusively on HoloLens. This sounds like a sci-fi movie that we saw when we were young. We can see a lot of virtual content with helmets. In reality, we are calm in a space.

With the development and popularization of augmented reality technology, the developers and organizers of the exhibition hope that everyone will be able to sit in the living room of their own home in the future and experience a variety of different landscapes and charms around the world.

“Although this is only in its infancy, it is definitely a new road for the development of the global art market in business development,” said Elena Soboleva, curator of the virtual art exhibition. "You can imagine in your own living room that you are in a museum thousands of miles away, and the combined experience of augmented reality will try to make this experience as realistic as possible."

This is the first time that Microsoft has cooperated with art institutions through commercial forms, and this is certainly not the last time. Augmented reality has great potential for application, and we have seen its use in education, medical care, and games so far.

If you are interested in this Augmented Reality Virtual Museum, then this exhibition will last until March 5. Interested ones can go to Piers 92 and 94 in Manhattan, New York.
