Accelerated-Graphics-Port: Accelerated Graphics Port, which is a bus structure designed to ease the strain on video bandwidth. It connects the display card directly to the motherboard's chipset for point-to-point transmission. However, it is not a regular bus, because it can only be connected to the AGP graphics card, so it is not universal and scalable. Its operating frequency is 66MHz, which is double that of PCI bus, and it can provide 528MB/S data transmission rate for video equipment. So in fact it is a superset of PCI.
