On April 23, according to foreign media reports, Siemens' lighting division Osram said on Wednesday that it plans to sell its tungsten lamp business to the Plansee Group in Austria.
Osram said the sale involves two factories, one in the United States and the other in the Czech Republic. The two plants have more than 1,000 employees and annual revenues totaling 280 million euros.
Earlier, Siemens shares rose 3.8%, due to market speculation that Siemens may completely divest Osram lighting business. As of 1117GMT, Siemens shares rose 0.9% to 71.75 euros.
