introduction
In recent years, communication methods based on public networks have been widely used in industrial remote monitoring. These remote communication methods include public telephone network, Internet network and wireless network. A wireless communication network does not require a transmission line and can communicate anywhere in the coverage area. Obviously, these advantages are difficult to compare with wired networks.
The GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network is currently the most widely used wireless communication network in China. Therefore, when constructing a remote transmission system, the existing GSM wireless network can be used without rebuilding the base station.
At present, there are many applications of SMS (short message service) for remote monitoring, such as electric power remote meter reading system, remote hydrological monitoring system, repeater remote monitoring system, remote environmental monitoring system, remote power distribution monitoring system and other remote information query systems . SMS is suitable for the occasions where there is less data flow, and the amount of status information and fault information of UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is less, so it is very suitable to transmit by SMS.
The remote monitoring system introduced in this article is mainly used to monitor UPS. Since there are relatively few UPS failures, if each UPS is equipped with staff on duty, it is obviously a waste of manpower, material resources, and financial resources. Handling in time can cause serious consequences. Using the existing wireless network, as long as there is a staff on duty in the monitoring center, all UPS can be monitored. Not only can the UPS status information be queried at any time, but also the UPS fault information can be obtained in time, saving manpower, Material and financial resources.
1 System composition principle and functions realized by the system
1.1 Principle of system composition
The system consists of a monitoring center, staff on duty and remote monitoring points. The monitoring center is composed of PC and GSM communication module, and only one monitoring center is needed. The remote monitoring point is composed of monitoring objects and monitoring modules. UPS is the monitoring object. More than 10 monitoring objects are used in this system test. The monitoring module consists of a GSM communication module and a single-chip microcomputer, and each monitoring object requires a monitoring module. The system schematic diagram is shown in Figure 1.
1.2 Functions realized by the system
The monitoring center mainly has 4 functions:
a) Remotely set the monitoring module, such as setting the SIM module number that the monitoring module returns to the monitoring center;
b) Send commands to query various information of UPS remotely and receive the returned data;
c) Automatically receive the alarm information returned by the remote monitoring point;
d) Store the status information and alarm information of UPS.
The role of the on-duty personnel is: when the UPS fails, in addition to sending data to the monitoring center, the monitoring module will also send the data information to the on-duty personnel. The on-duty personnel can rush to the site in time to repair the UPS and minimize the loss.
The 2 functions of the remote monitoring point are:
a) Receive the query command sent by the monitoring center and query the UPS, and then send the data returned by the UPS to the monitoring center;
b) In idle time, continuously check the working status of the UPS to determine whether there is a fault, and if a fault occurs, send the fault information to the monitoring center and staff on duty.
1.3 GSM communication module
At present, many GSM communication equipment manufacturers produce GSM communication modules, such as Wavecom's WM02 series and two subsidiary TC35 series. The functions and usage of these modules are basically the same. This system uses Wavecom's Wismo2c module in the early stage of development, and uses Siemens' TC35I module in the later stage. These two kinds of modules are the second generation wireless dual-band communication modules that conform to the E-GSM900 / GSM1800 (or E-GSM900 / GSM1900) standard, and comply with the AT control commands of GSM 07.07 and 07.05.
