Z77 only live 1 year? Haswell 8 Series Chipset Specifications First Exposure

The next quarter Intel 7 series chipsets (Z77, H77, etc.) will be released soon, but recently revealed related information of the Haswell processor supporting chipset. This series of chipsets currently codenamed Lynx Point, will be named 8 series, tentatively scheduled for the first half of 2013, with the next generation of Ivy Bridge processor products. It seems that the life cycle of the 7 series chipsets is only a short one year.

In addition to supporting more Intel new technologies, the Lynx Point chipset has the largest change in the number of native USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gb/s interfaces, as compared to the old chipset, with as many as six each and more Low TDP and less heat, and a smaller package.

According to the latest roadmap released by Intel, the life expectancy of the 7 series chipsets is really only about 1 year, and Intel will not launch any new products in the third quarter of this year, preparing for the Lynx Point in the first half of 2013, and the 7 series chips.
