Recently, the 100,000th servo motor manufactured by ABB China was launched in Shanghai ABB Power Transmission Co., Ltd. This servo motor is developed by ABB's local team and tailored to the customer's needs on the HDS series platform. It will be used in the welding process of robotic welding guns.
In order to better fit the application requirements of the robot's outer shaft, the welding torch, ABB's R&D team has carried out a series of innovative design changes on the HDS standard product platform. The high power density core design reduces the overall motor size by 40% and reduces weight by 50%. The high dynamic response permanent magnet brakes provide greater braking torque in a smaller volume, while ensuring customer power and signal through special design. The mounting flange and mounting hole dimensions remain the same.

In 2018, ABB's third servo motor production line will be completed during the year to further expand its production capacity in China.
