Entry level Soundbar platform
The CSR8670TM is an entry-level platform that integrates DSPs, microcontrollers, analog and digital interfaces, and wireless connectivity modules into a single SoC device to help customers reduce overall system complexity and bill of materials. With this fast and easy solution, OEMs and ODMs can perform single-chip 2.0 or 2.1-channel Soundbar designs. The entry-level design also supports analog and digital inputs, audio decoding and post-processing, wireless subwoofers, and Bluetooth audio streams from smartphones, tablets, PCs and laptops, including the aptX® codec.
When configured as a 2.1 channel Soundbar system, the platform includes a subwoofer design that incorporates a dedicated wireless module based on the CSRA65700 ROM IC. This design seamlessly matches the CSR8670 in the Soundbar to transmit extracted low-frequency audio data over an ultra-low latency Bluetooth link. The subwoofer design also plays back low-frequency audio from the speakers to accurately reproduce its bass. As an alternative to traditional infrared remote controls, the Bluetooth Smart remote can be used to implement volume control and input selection.
The CSR entry-level platform enables a complete wireless solution with three Bluetooth links running simultaneously on a single device.
Mid-range Soundbar platform
CSR's Soundbar platform for the mid-range market has a more comprehensive functional design, while still helping to reduce system complexity and cost, and shorten development time. The platform uses CSR's feature-rich MAPX7TM audio DSP to enable a variety of decoding and post-processing methods for a truly immersive audio experience, whether through CSR's meloD® kit or third-party processing components such as Dolby or DTS. The platform's MAPX7TM DSP and CSR8670 Bluetooth devices offer a variety of input connections, supporting Bluetooth audio streaming, aptX codecs, analog and digital wired audio inputs, and a 2-input/1-output HDMI interface. select. In addition, the platform is designed to connect to the subwoofer of the built-in CSRA65700TM ROM IC via Bluetooth.
