Qualcomm Announces Connected Automotive Reference Platform Simplifies Integration of Advanced Connectivity Technology in New Cars

June 8, 2016, San Diego - Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. released

The Qualcomm® Connected Car Reference Platform is designed to accelerate the adoption of advanced, complex connectivity technologies in next-generation connected vehicles. As a leader in automotive connectivity technology solutions, Qualcomm Technologies has shipped more than 340 million chips to more than 20 automakers. The latest advances in 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and vehicle-to-the-air (V2X) communications are driving a growing number of automotive use cases that Qualcomm Technologies has introduced to keep pace with this development. The platform will also address challenges such as wireless coexistence, future adoption, and support for a large number of in-vehicle hardware architectures.

The Connected Automotive Reference Platform is based on Qualcomm Technologies' broad portfolio of automotive products and technologies, including Qualcomm® OpteronTM X12 and X5 LTE modems, four satellite global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) and 2D/3D dead reckoning (DR) positioning solutions. Solutions, Qualcomm® VIVETM Wi-Fi® technology, Dedicated Short Range CommunicaTIs (DSRC) for V2X, Bluetooth®, Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE), and broadcast capabilities, Analog and digital tuners such as software-defined radio support via Qualcomm® tuneXTM chips. In addition, this platform has a number of in-vehicle networking technologies, such as support

Gigabit Ethernet (OABR) Ethernet for the AutomoTIve Audio Bus (A2B) and Controller Area Network (CAN) interface.

Design highlights of the connected car reference platform include:

Scalability : Extends from a basic telematics control unit (TCU) to a highly integrated wireless gateway that connects multiple in-vehicle electronic control units (ECUs) with a common framework that supports wireless upgrades and Key functions such as data collection and analysis.

Future application : Supporting automotive connectivity technology software and hardware upgrades throughout the lifecycle, providing automotive manufacturers with a migration path from DSRC to hybrid/cellular V2X and from 4G LTE to 5G.

Wireless coexistence : Manage parallel operations of multiple wireless technologies using the same spectrum, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Bluetooth Low Energy.

OEM and third-party application support : Provide a secure, custom application development and execution framework.

The Connected Automotive Reference Platform enables automotive manufacturers and suppliers to explore, prototype and commercialize their connectivity designs through modules and solutions developed based on the Qualcomm Technologies product roadmap.

Nakul Duggal, vice president of product management at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., said, "With this connected automotive reference platform, Qualcomm Technologies provides automotive manufacturers, module OEM customers and developers with a platform that focuses on scalability, modularity and security. This enables the integration and management of a wide range of advanced wireless technologies in the car. We are pleased to announce this platform to provide the best advanced connectivity solutions and services in future automotive designs."

The Qualcomm Connected Car Reference Platform is expected to be available in 2016. Qualcomm Technologies will showcase the Qualcomm Connected Vehicle Reference Platform and application demos from partner companies at booth #C69 during the TU-AutomoTIve event in Detroit, June 8-9, including Movimento's OTA update and Savari, Inc.'s V2X communications. And vehicle data management and analysis at Hortonworks.

Kadena Mining Machine

Kadena public chain is the world's first and only Layered -1 PoW blockchain that can be segmented and extensible.

Through its unique "fragmented multi-chain structure", it achieves the following characteristics:

It's decentralized. Adopt the most decentralized PoW consensus mechanism proven by Bitcoin
Security. Thanks to Bitcoin's proven economic model, millions of miners defend the assets on the chain
Scalable. Performance breakthroughs are achieved by infinitely increasing parallel Bitcoin-like blockchains

Many chain structure

Going back to what users are concerned about, when you use the Kadena public chain:

There's no need to wait. Up to 480,000TPS transaction processing speed, helping you achieve "second to second transfer"

There is no need to pay high fees. Benefit from the superior expansion performance, your commission fee can be as low as 0.1 yuan or even free!

Not only that, but Kadena's powerful Pact smart contract provides developers with an extremely convenient and creative research and development tool, which is driving the development of blockchain applications at a very low barrier to entry to truly reach a large number of users.
